Press Kit - Bonnard Intime Exhibition, Bonnard Museum
This summer, the Bonnard Museum invites the public into Pierre Bonnard’s most intimate world through two complementary exhibitions: Intimate Bonnard - Les toilettes de Marthe, and a brand-new focus on l'Atelier au Mimosa. These two exhibitions will show how daily life, memory, and sensation are the realms of Pierre Bonnard’s creativity.
The exhibition is enhanced by a unique sensory experience. Placed near a selection of works—mounted on
discreet wall consoles reminiscent of those from the 1930s—
six scent installations recreate fragrances from Bonnard’s
era. Created by Kitty Shpirer, an independent perfumer,
this olfactory palette draws direct inspiration from the artist’s works.

The exhibition, organized in Bellême (Orne) as part of Arts en Cités 2026, in collaboration with the Petites Cités de Caractère de l'Orne,
the FDAC 61, and the Département Tourisme 61, is open to the
public through September 20 at the City Hall.

At the International Perfume Museum, Laure Decomble, the scientific curator in charge of conservation for the museums of Grasse, is exploring new ways to showcase perfume through olfactory installations and collaborations with contemporary artists. For her part, artist and perfumer Kitty Shpirer develops projects where perfume interacts with painting, dance, music, or writing. Both explore perfume as a medium in its own right, capable of bridging all other artistic disciplines.
